After the official fighting at Bellator 110 ended, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and "King" Mo Lawal angrily confronted one another mid-cage, requiring physical separation by concerned onlookers. This morning, Sherdog's Jack Encarnacao reported evidence that Bellator likely staged the scuffle.

'Mazzulli: Oh, absolutely. You hit the nail on the head. I was told about it, I was told about it yesterday at the weigh-in, and that's why there would be no cause and effect to it.'

That's all we needed to know right there.

Yeah, it was obviously planned.

Now, will Dana make fun of it, despite Sonnen vs Wandy on TUF Brazil was also clearly fake?

We're one fighter running into the ring and hitting another fighter with a chair short of WWE right now.

Was there actually anyone watching that didn't realize it was staged? I doubt it.

Didn't help that Jimmy Smith was cracking up.

I was recently asking a couple of co-workers if they watched mma. And then elaborated about UFC, TUF, and so on.
They both said isn't that stuff fake like WWE? I don't like that some people think that and staged stuff like this doesn't help support the way I feel.

The most ridiculous part of all of this is that there was some decent press that came out when Rampage signed with Bellator, talking about Rampage and Mo squashing their beef.... They were even talking about being a TNA tag team... Now this

Painfully fake. I hate the four man tournament format as well.

When I saw the weigh-in footage of Rampage and M'Pumbu it seemed fake but Rampage fought like he was mad and seemed to be really worked up after the finish so when he started yelling at Mo it just seemed natural.

The push and having to be held apart thing is ridiculous every time it happens but the classics never die...

I wonder how staged it was, they knew Rampage would be fired up so maybe they just encouraged him to get in Mo's face and talk smack which is fine in my books, but if the whole "try and fight each other in the ring thing" was staged then... It's disappointing but It wouldn't surprise me with Viacom in control now. They are the same people who brought us Junie and Rob Browning after all.

The regulators backtracking does make sense though. King Mo looked more confused then scared when it happened. I don`t think he was in on it. Maybe they just egged Rampage on, pushed his buttons (told him everyone thinks he should retire etc) and told him to call out Mo after he wins, and the rest happened naturally... Rampage has been known to go nuts before and he`s highly suggestible. I think it was more orchestrated then staged but Rampage is a good actor so who knows. Quinton`s contract is with Viacom, not Bellator by the way. He said recently they treat him so well he would do anything they ask.
starting a fake fight falls into the category of anything.....

That clip of Chael pushing Wand from the new TUF trailer (that they kept playing on fight pass) looked totally fake also. MMA is popular between males 18-40, not the 8-16 demographic. The promoters read the forums on Sherdog and the UG and think all MMA fans are morons but we`re not, there`s just a lot of trolls, causal fans, and morons on those boards.
