If I could legally bet on this, I would put a couple hundreds on Machida.

I don't know what to make of Weidman's two fights with Silva. But if he beats Machida - "lucky" punch, too (injury), anything - he's the real deal in my book.

Weidman is definitely for real, but as the saying goes, styles make fights, and stylistically, this is the type of fight in terms of clash of styles that Machida has been in a bunch of times, and most of the time he came out on top. This is a tough fight for Weidman since Machida is notoriously difficult to take down primarily because it's so hard to get inside on him and when you do he has shown great balance and sprawled well and even countered with trips of his own. The guy is a tough test for Weidman. Not to take anything away from Silva when I say this, especially since I have him as the GOAT, but strictly speaking when it comes to styles, I think Machida is a tougher fight for Weidman than Silva. I think I'll actually have Machida picked to win a close decision. Great fight in my book.

I will put some money on Machida in this one. I think he will still have a speed advantage in this fight. For me the question is can he keep the fight standing if not Weidman will end up with a win either by sub or a dec.

Lol people acting like Davis ran through Machida or something. Dude only landed two takedowns on him and he had to carefully plan and time the hell out of them.

I'm still not sold on Weidman. Two weird ass wins over Silva just doesn't prove he's as great as people make him out to be. Personally I think Machida destroys him. Weidman is not taking him down except maybe once or twice while he sure as hell won't out strike Machida.

Don't forget Davis is pretty lengthy and used kicks. Machida is going to pick Weidman apart.

Silva is a counter striker just like Machida.

They differ on how they set up their shots, but counter nonetheless

with that being said, I can see Weidman winning this without the need or the championship rounds via TKO

I don't really see a submission.

I see Weidman catching Machida against the fence, or when Machida comes in and tries to throw that slick knee to the body he likes to use then pop out.

Just my .02

Weidman will either smash him or win a nauseatingly boring split decision.

I've got Chris Weidman by Machida slipping on a banana peal and twisting his ankle, which is totally a legit win so STFU.

Wrestler's kryptonite vs. Striker's kryptonite

Really tough fight to call IMO. I guess Weidman should be the slight favorite since no one has shown a way to beat him yet.
