UFC president Dana White saidLyoto Machida could earn a shot at the middleweightchampionship with a win at UFC Fight Night 36. "The Dragon" got the win, but he’s not buying that promise yet.

Machida vs Bisping

Machida wins, he gets the title fight he wants. Bisping wins, he gets the title fight he's wanted for so long and then we all get to see him get smashed.

Great attitude, I get it with Machida...at this point staying active is important to make sure the title shot doesn't get passed on...the only other guy I see other than him after Vitor vs Weidman is Jacare right now too.

I'd prefer that if he take another fight it be against somebody like bisping rather than Jacare. Reason being that if he gets another fight before the title shot, or if they pass him up for Jacare, one way or the other it doesn't eliminate one of the 2 biggest contenders in the division. Basically I just want us to know that we have at least 2 fights to make one after the other to make sure whoever the champ is stays active and that belt gets defended regularly barring any injuries. I'm tired of the days where the champs, e.g. GSP and Cruz, would go an entire year and only fight once, or in cruz's case only fight once every 2 years.

Just cuz your name is Machida doesn't mean you should get the next title shot imo - he just moved to middleweight..I'd say a shot after AT LEAST 2 more wins in a row against decent names

Machida would dismantle both of these guys, it really depends what the UFC wants to do. If they want to keep 2 contenders in Machida and Jacare or have them fight again....

They should do what they did for that Fox card featuring Machida, Bader, Shogun, and Vera but follow through this time.

Machida vs Bisping, Jacare vs Rockhold 2

More impressive winner of Jacare and Machida gets title shot, the other is #1 contender afterwards.

If either Bisping or Rockhold pull an upset, whoever doesn't get upset gets title shot. I know Rock hold winning isn't an upset as in odds, but an upset as in Jacare loses his shot.

Only flawed Logic is most likely Machida brutally KOs Bisping while Jacare and Luke go the distance probably. Wouldn't mind Machida vs Rockhold n Jacare vs Bisping as an alternative though.

Bisping is already fighting kennedy and that's still 2 months off.
Jacare vs machida will remove a contender which isn't too bright, but hey, this is the ufc.
Machida should probably wait but I think wide man wanted time off after vitor and if he wins, then we have a delay.
Tough situation.

I agree. It doesn't make sense to have Machida fight Souza for a title shot. If this were to happen, the division would be cleared and there would be no big names left for the champion to defend against. Right now we have Weidman, Vitor, Machida, Souza and Bisping in the top bracket. I would like to see the champ (who will most likely be Machida ) fight all these guys which IMO are all mega fights.
