In the aftermath of signing UFC Lightweight top contender Gilbert Melendez, the Bellator CEO makes a bold statement of intent and claims that Bellator will "We're gong to continue to sign the best fighters, whether they are from a favela in Brazil, the frozen tundra of Siberia, or they are fighting in the UFC."

If Andy Wang ever decides to make a comeback, he knows where to go.

Yeah like bellator promotions is a fucking modern citizen when it comes to treating their fighters good as well
Just remember Bjorn
UFC has more cash and can out bid you on any fighter youhave

And if gil does go to bellator
I would bet the ufc goes after their top fighters
And steals a few away themselves

Really, they and others can sit back and let the UFC trip over itself. They are like the Roman Empire and the disconnect between the money earners and money makers looks like it's getting wider by the day.

"The fighters are the ones fueling pay-per-view buys or fueling cable television ratings. You're not fueling ratings by promoting Bjorn or Bellator. Promoting the fighters should be first and foremost."

BINGO . You build your company through the fighters. The fighters bring in the fans and then the company treats the fans with respect as well as the fighters. You don't do back alley deals and screw your employees and you don't price out the fans.

I hope that some UFC fighters branch out if they can get more money in another organization....the UFC needs to pay better, can't have them be a monopoly.

This is good knees for top level guys as they can max out their contracts by just considering the other company's offer and make their company match or top it.

Still doesn't help the bottom level guys though. Damn shame.
