Fight Night 36 proved to be a record breaking night for the UFC, but it probably wasn't a record that the Zuffa owned promotion particularly wanted broken. Toppling February 1st's UFC 169, UFC Fight Night 36 became the longest UFC event on record.

The only reason I stayed up was because of Jacare/Carmont and Machida/Mousasi. Don't blame the fighters. I think Joe Silva is to blame here.

I agree. There's some match ups, that right when you see they're made, you know it's probably going to go to a decision. Those match ups have been being made more and more recently.

For the record, I picked 8 decisions last night.

It happens, problem is a couple of things:
unknown fighters, fear of losing, mutually supporting talents (lots of jitz guys against each other) etc...

This show was painful to watch and my interest in the product is really starting to fade.

Alot of these guys 5 years ago would never be in the UFC
Global expansion. Over saturation. Leads to watered down cards.

Hate to say it. But give me my ppv per month
4 fox cards a year and only one fight night a month
Plus tuf finales. That's it. Stack those motherfucking ppv
Nothing but title fights and double title fights on half those ppvs

It certainly felt like the longest event of my life.

I lost my excitement for the ppv during the Prelims. Got it back on the first fight. Then lost it till the main event.

It was long but I didn't think most of the fights were too bad. A few good ones, and the main event was very good, very technical.
