I felt so bad for Thomson last night for having broken his hand. Sadly kind of the story of his career... Close to a UFC title shot, they close the division. Close to another UFC title shot, champ gets injured. Short notice fight against a super tough opponent whom he certainly had a chance to beat and was looking good against, but he gets his hand broken early and goes on to lose what is another close decision, and Bendo winning, as is the hallmark of both competitors careers....

I wish The Punk luck no matter what, moving forward.

Edit: I did have Bendo winning, but sadly I was at a friends and forgot to DVR it at my place

It will be a shame if he's lost faith enough in the sport that he doesn't want to compete in it anymore. That is what I think is part of it getting to him, he knows what everyone else does, he's better then Henderson with one hand, but the people designated to relay that are more frequent unable to do so. It hurts the sport in a lot of ways, Thomson's potential bowing out could be one of them. Thomson and Melendez are probably, or at least two out of a few, the best LWs in the world today.

I don't think he's gonna retire either. It's more than likely just an emotional decision considering he just lost a very close decision and he suffered an injury. I haven't even looked up to see the extent of his injury but seriously he should just take a little time off, rehab his injury and make another run for a Title Shot. Like I said I'm not sure what the extent of his injury is but you could tell he was a different fighter right after the injury. Even with that loss there are not that many fighters ahead of Thompson in the Division.

Saw this in the post fight presser, I think it was just his emotions getting the best of him but I guess we'll see.

hell no man! i had him winning 3 out of the five last night! i understand he's getting older, and has been fighting for years, but to make the fight that close with a broken thumb says alot to me. i think he would of definitely won if he didnt break that in the second! now Gill should fight Pettis, and bendo should fight khabib!

I gave the Punk round 1 and 5, but really wish he won, and preferably the way he beat Diaz. I'm so god-damn sick of Henderson. I respect his game but he is a preening idiot. Constantly f--king with his hair, the toothpick nonsense (evidence of idiocy) and NO, you cant get a f--king amen from me you dufus. "Saturday night's for fighting", leave that shit for sunday mr angel wings

I can't fucking stand Bendo, but I honestly don't see how anyone thought Thomson won that fight.
