Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is lobbying for a fight with Michael Bisping and is interested in fighting in the light heavyweight division.

He needs to stick to one weight class. Lot of potential matchups at MW.

Kennedy vs. Bisping
Rockhold vs. Bisping
Munoz vs. Bisping
Jacare is up there in the mix as well

Two match ups that make little to no sense.

Who else is there that isn't tied up at the moment?

2 big MW matches coming up in less than a month. A match up with any 4 of those guys makes more sense IMO. Machida, Mousasi, Jacare, or Carmont. I guess Munoz wouldn't be so bad, but he's coming off a devastating loss while Rockhold is coming off a dominant win. Philippou TKO'd the barbarian and we just seen what Rockhold did to him.

I agree very much so. Rockhold is still one of the best in the Middleweight Division. He had that set back with Vitor. But going into that match up there was the hype of coming in as the Strikeforce Champion.

I'd say of those 2 matchups, Munoz or Boetsch, I'd rather him get Munoz since I think Munoz has the better chance of winning, but highly doubtful. But Rockhold just beat Philippou which in terms of rankings there is a very small margin that separates those 3, Philippou, Munoz, and Boetsch. Munoz would be the higher ranked of the 3 though.

I do think that since Bisping is tied up at the moment with Tim Kennedy that we'll see Rockhold vs either the winner of Machida/Mousasi or the winner of Jacare/Carmont. It'll be a title contender match. Unless of course Belfort/Weidman gets put on hold for the TRT exemption. And if he does get put on hold let Weidman get one of those winners to keep the Divison from being held up.

Also if Rockhold doesn't fair well in his MW Title journey I don't see anything wrong with him testing the waters at LHW. I think he's more cut out for that move than any of the other MW's. Rockhold is right there with Jon Jones and Alexander Gustaffson as far as size goes.

I'd rather see Rockhold vs Bisping anyway. Rockhold is one of my faves and I feel he can test Bispings standup. I'd give the advantage to Bisping cuz he always seems to find a way to pull out close fights.

I like this better then a Kennedy fight. Kennedy should fight Phillip, Minor or Boetch next. I think that's the not level of guy for him.

Rockhold matches up better with Bisping because Tim only really has a haymaker chance. Luke is just as versatile as Bisping but with more power. I'd favor Luke in that fight but I could see if being like Edgar-Aldo were the faster Bisping lands a bit more while Luke lands the harder shots. Probably be as SD.
