Anthony Pettis has been out of action since winning the lightweight title last August, but he could be back for the UFC's big 4th of July weekend PPV.

Hopefully that lines him up with the winner this Sat between Bendo and Thomson.

I doubt he headlines one of the biggest cards of the year

Unless the card is
Pettis
Edgar vs Penn
And rousey vs cat zigano

Don't be suprised if
Jones vs Gus rematch happens

Sucks that he will bee out over 5 more months still, but if your gonna make a comeback, July 5 show is a good PPV to do it on. I hope it is Melendez or Aldo vs Pettis.

I think he will get Melendez next. I just hope that if Melendez ends up getting the Khabib fight that he'll have time between fights to get his rest and a full training camp.

If Josh Thompson can beat Bendo this Saturday, I say he gets the shot. I just don't see Bendo getting the shot against Pettis so soon even with a win over Thompson.

And somewhere out there is TJ Grant. He's kinda the forgotten contender out there. He's still somewhere up there in the mix and a posibility depending on how things unfold with Thompson and where Melendez is at when this times comes.

Melendez is the most deserving, but I doubt they will macth him up with Showtime. Aldo would be sick! but that is if Aldo beats Lamas. Which I have no doubt he will. But I don't think that fight will happen just yet either. I think if Josh Thompson wins they will match them up. If bendo wins maybe Gill will get his shot again. I know he's been interested in fighting nate, not the match up I think should happen, but I wouldn't doubt it.

I like Nate but I really hope they don't do that matchup. There are too many guys ahead of Nate at the moment and Nate is 1-2 in his last 3 and a win over a fading Maynard does not constitute a Title shot.
That and he just had a Title shot against Bendo but more importantly he just doesn't even come close to deserving it.
