Bellator's bizarre decision to rematch Pat Curran and Daniel Straus despite Straus' clear victory last November has deeply upset current tounament winner Patricio Pitbull.

I feel for him. Curran didn't earn this instant rematch.

I've been hoping for a while that the UFC would knab him up and send him to 135 lbs division.

Ya it's just ridiculous. I'm not one to rip any promotion for their decisions no matter how selfish, etc. but I feel like everyone is getting robbed of an awesome fight with Pitbull/Straus. Seeing Curran get a title shot is just major bs, it's not like he was even campaining for one or anything.
Bellator is sinking their own ship so bad that even tournament winners and champions are questioning their dumb decisions, I would be surprised if any guys were lining up to fight for them.

Sounds like something Dana and Company would do

This rematch is happening as a direct result of MMA fans malcontent fickleness.

BFC instituted a clause mandating tournament winning divisional title holders would receive an immediate rematch if they were defeated.

It used to be that a champion who lost could get a rematch by winning the tourney again. Couple of years ago fans were in line to crap the bed and roll in it in a bitch fit over the notion of a champion having to go through the tourney again to get a rematch.

And here we are today. When does the crying end?

Based off of this it sounds like Bellator should just stop doing tournaments then.

There's 2 tournament winners at Featherweight and the same thing is happening at Lightweight.

At this rate I could see the next winner having to wait about a year while the guys ahead of him get their turn, rematches etc. Winning the tourney will mean that a fighter is getting a long break between fights.

Good for Pitbull. That last fight between Curran and Straus was awful.
