With his last UFC contract completed, Henderson remains in negotiations with the promotion. However, the two are having trouble agreeing to terms.

I want to watch Dan fight! Who doesn't? He draws eyes, why they continue to dick him around is beyond me. Losing him to strike force was so stupid. I hope I don't have to watch him lamp fool on WSOF.

Dan and his contract issues

No disrespect but Henderson seems like he is a hard man to work with.

Dan is certainly one of the all-time greats, but this is the worst possible time for him to be negotiating a contract. Three losses in a row. Hasn't looked good since 2011. Getting pretty old. Probably was making a lot with his last contract.

Came here to say that.

Dan Henderson vs King Mo would be a fun fight
So would Hendo vs Rampage 2
Or even Hendo vs Ortiz

Also did a really bad buyrate with his fight against Rashad.

I'm a Hendo fan boy, but he definitely does not have the cards in his favor. He said he offered a significant pay cut, but the UFC was a lot lower. It's hard to say without knowing the numbers. He is unlikely to ever get a title shot again, but with his name recognition, he could easily headline a free fight on Fox, Fight for the troops, or Fight Night or be a solid co-main event on a PPV. Unless he goes on a tear, the only time he will be the PPV main event is if there are injuries or they are is desperate need for a big name. Although unlikely to get a title fight, there are plenty of legacy fights that would be fun.

Hendo's fights were significantly cooler in SF than his latter fights in the UFC (That shogun fight was rad tho). Personally, I'd like to see him sign with Bellator so he can scrap with some knuckleheads.

Its also about who his opponent is. Machida doesn't have the most exciting style and can make a fight seem boring. The Belfort fight provided sparks and excitement for a few moments. The Evans fight was just meh for the most part though.

Hendo knows he has to take a pay cut, he even said a 50% cut was fine but more than half off his $250k was a bit much from someone they had as the Main Event 3 out of his 4 fights back from SF

He should take the pay cut, and fight top 20 fighters in the UFC to work his way back to the title, and than renegotiate.

They want to pay Dan more the 50% less to do what?

They will not use him in a position that warrants the reduction. He's not going to be fighting Cody Donnavan on the prelims. Zuffa is going to keep using Dan as marquee in significant, drawing fights. It's no surprise they don't want his pay to actually reflect that though.

Are you saying you wouldn't fight for your paycheck, when your employer want's to decrease it by over 50%?

I still wish he fought Jon Jones, but I think father time has caught up with Hendo, retire Hendo!!!
