Only a few weeks out from the fight, Silva contends that Weidman's win was based completely off luck.

How are you going to have 2 tko losses to the same dude in a row and still discredit him? Talk about being fucking delusional!

He didn't say anything outlandish or disrespectful. Certainly nothing to "lose an enormous amount of respect" over.

Not sure what you would want or expect him to say...

Technically, yes you did, Anderson. That's the official ruling announced by Buffer on fight night, and the way it will go down on your record, as well as the way the rules/athletic commission dictate it should be. That said, it's not the way any of us would've liked to have seen him go down, regardless of whether we wanted him to win or lose. He got dominated in round one, so he lost if you were to score it based on what little we did get to see too. It's not like he showed up as a world beater and then a freak accident happened and he was declared the loser. Maybe he would've pulled something out of his ass and pulled out a victory if he hadn't suffered the injury. Who knows? I sure as hell don't. He should just let it go, focus on recovering and hang up his gloves and walk off into the sunset with his head held high with the knowledge that in the eyes of many people out there he will be remembered as the GOAT.

I'd expect him to be gracious in defeat, like a true man, warrior, professional, or whatever your preferred terminology. That's what I'd expect him to do.

I think Silva is wrong to bother trying to discredit Weidman's wins (especially the 1st one) but I don't think there is a fighter in MMA history who has 2 less convincing finishes over an the same opponent.

The second barely counts at all, and the first was legit but had a lot to do with Silva's disrespect for Weidman's power.

If Silva was healthy and the 2 were to fight again on the next card I doubt Weidman would be much of a favorite.

If we have to endure a year of him and his management team saying things just to keep his name in the news a couple times per week I'm going to have to find a way to filter out any Anderson Silva related news.

He can think what he wants but to continue to try and discredit Weidman publicly is making him appear to be delusional to the fact that he can lose fights. Great for your mindset when returning to the Octagon, but to me hints that he'll eventually be a HOF'er that hangs on many fights too long whether that point is many years away or is already starting.

I understand saying the 2nd win was a bit of a fluke and not the result of training to aggressively check his kicks but leave it at that. Continuing with saying Weidman shouldn't consider it a win and that he would've won had he not injured his leg is just making him look bad (sad?) to me, and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Ok, I think some of you guys are taking this out of proportion. Yes he lost both fights for sure.... And I'm pretty sure Anderson does not mean to discredit weidman. These comments have been misinterpreted I think. The way he lost both fights especially the 2nd left a bitter taste in most peoples mouths as they were not definitive wins like a clean ko or tko stoppage or submission. Yes the first fight was a ko but silva took his screwing around to an even greater level. I'm probably going to get slack for this post and I don't think I made a clear enough statement above but I do get where silva is coming from in that he didn't get beaten in either fight in a conventional way.

Don't attack me too bad !

Its actually pretty similar to Faber's losses to Brown. One was Faber getting caught with a stray punch when going for a crazy spinning back elbow dash. The second loss was caused by breaking both his hands.

First fight - Silva clowning is part of his arsenal and has never cost him a fight...or even gotten him into much trouble.

After two wins, Weidman would likely be something like -250 despite the unusual outcomes simply because Silva was losing both fights before the quirks happened. How do people not remember the first rounds of either fight (especially the second fight where Silva was nearly KO'd)? In neither fight was Silva able to get any kind of significant offense going and was dominated in all aspects.

If lines opened up near even, Weidman would be up to -200 within 24 hours, I'd think, if they were to fight again.

Go back to the drawing board Anderson. Get a win over Bisping then come back to fight Weidman.

Reality is you lost twice, your not next in line anymore
