UFC president Dana White says that the UFC will hold a show in Canada — in Montreal, to be more specific — and that it will happen in October of this year.

Holding a UFC event in Canada without GSP is possibly the dumbest thing they've ever done. They better figure out a way to put him in for the Canadian card, because they are gonna lose alot of people without GSP. The Canadians are excited to see a fighter who represents them well. to not putting GSP on the Canadian card.

they need to get GSP, and possibly starnes/cote or some other solid canadian fighters on the card. They should bill it the same way they've been billing most of their overseas events... it's always more exciting when you have hometown favourites to pull for.

Becuase they want GSP to win for sure. Not saying he wont be KOS. But they would give him someone who is less of a threat. Maybe like Burkman or Fickett. Still Tough guys but not on the level of Koscheck.

Ufc coming to Canada is going to draw a croud whether GSP is fighting or not. The Canadians will be there to show there support for the sport and maybe the Ontario Government will open their eyes and start sanctioning MMA events in the province. No matter who is fighting on the card it is going to be a sold out event. I can see Jason Macdonald making an apperance on the card.

I don't think GSP will be on the card, especially not if he is already slated for a title shot in early 2008. I wouldn't be surprised if we see other Montreal favorites like Stout, Cote, maybe a return of Hominick at 155. I would also like to see Jonathan Goulet back in the UFC. A rematch against Bang Ludwig should create some fireworks.

I'll be there even if it's a card full of cans. I promised myself I'd go to the first and any UFC event held in Canada a long long time ago. No GSP will be unfortunate but I'll survive.

Arg, this news comes shortly after my in-laws moved out of Montreal, providing me with less reason(s) to convince my wife to allow me to go. lol
I might still do it if I can get a buddy with a car to drive.
