Dr. Steven Sanders, who performed the surgery on former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva’s broken leg in the early hours of Sunday morning, detailed the procedure and recovery process during a media conference call on Monday.

Silva broke both the tibia and fibula in his left leg during the UFC 168 main event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 28 when champion Chris Weidman checked an inside leg kick. The fractures occurred about equal distance from the ankle. Sanders described the injury as “fairly severe,” and the leg was stabilized inside the Octagon...

I don't care what they say about the leg healing properly, I really don't think we will see silva back in the octagon. the article made it seem like silva wanted to train and the doc talked about him going back to fighting, but I think the guy needs to retire or go into pro boxing.

I'm praying for him and I'm disgusted by some of the callousness shown by certain people on the internet and by Weidman, or at least his corner.

Love him or hate him this is a human being who has suffered a horrifying injury. People need to show some respect.

It's great to hear that he wants to get back in there. I'd love to see it. If he could make a comeback after this it would be one of the greatest stories in MMA history.

I just hope he doesn't start training early and hurt himself. As long as he's listening to his doctors, and paying attention to his body, he'll be alright.

WAR ANDERSON!!! GOAT!!!

If Anderson comes back for one more fight he would earn the love he never really got during his reign.

I think Anderson got plenty of love during his reign. The majority of the world considers him the GOAT.
