Undefeated former Bellator champion Ben Askren says that he "definitely thought about" retirement before signing a lucrative two-year, six-fight contract with One FC.

I kind of hope for one of two things:
The Jits/Thai experts down there finish him more than once and in dynamic fashion, so I don't hear about him getting into the UFC anymore.

OR

He destroys like 3-5 guys in a row proving he can finish opponents routinely so that I can stop hearing and discussing why he isn't in the UFC yet.

Right now either will do.

Wouldn't have blamed him if he did, what's the point knowing your wasting your prime years against guys who shouldn't be in there with you because of politics of the sport. I hope we see Aksren come to the ufc before the end of 2014, he deserves it regardless of how people feel about his style.

yes...i like both - i like when someone figures out how to beat a really dominant style fighter, and i'd like to see him be more exciting and crush some people and get into the Octagon against the best there are. And he could easily do this in 1 year if they give him 3 fights or more. Of course, if he gets into the UFC and becomes a blanket, i'll have to eat my words.

Askren just wanted legal soccer kicks to a downed opponent. Suits his style.
