Struggling UFC heavyweight hurter, Pat Barry, may finally be making that drop to light heavyweight.

I love Pat, but he'll do even worse at 205. The competition is much better at LHW than it is at HW.

i think he could definitely beat some lower tier guys, but he would be a midget at lhw too and he has never shown a ground game.

205 ain't gonna help your chin buddy

First fight should be Fabio Maldonado

It's not gonna help his takedown defense or ground game either.

Barry would be much better at LHW. He wouldn't be dominated physically as soon as he stepped in the cage and his brutal leg strikes and killer overhand would be a force.

He needs to be more aggressive imo, he's a plodder even at HW where he should have the speed advantage. Well, aggression and don't get mounted. OK, and more lateral movement for striking defense. I don't know that he's really improving over the years.

It is just really weird seeing that "UFC Heavyweight" in the article title. Just don't get it.
