At the weekend Paul "Semtex" Daley put in a late run for KOTY at BAMMA 14 when he exploded and folded opponent Romario "Jr. Killer" da Silva in the main event of BAMMA 14.

Its a devastating shot to be sure, but for KO of the year I would prefer to see something a little more exotic than a hard punch that lands cleanly.

The old punch to the face knockout!!!

A rare technique indeed.

At least he's not competing with a number of spinning hook kicks or anything cool like that.

Still can't believe Diaz decided to stand with him for their Strikeforce WW Title fight. Daley caught him flush multiple times, floored him clean off his feet twice if I remember right, and Diaz still finished by TKO with seconds left in the first round. I'm surprised the clean Semtex power shots Diaz was dropped by didn't cause a body/brain disconnect as almost all Daley's flush hits do. No chin is meant to hold up to those.

Possibly the worst game-plan in MMA history for Nick, but no way to question Diaz's ability to take a sledgehammer to the head. Anyone else gets tagged by Semtex twice, or even once like that, they don't just get dropped and immediately recuperate, they become a .gif on the internet like above.

I say insert Daley on the TUF China fighter roster to boost ratings. We'll need a translator for the Chinese so wouldn't be too hard to find one for Daley as well.

His opponent doesn't look very skilled to have just stood there and ate that punch, especially when you're fighting Daley and know the left hook is coming.

Worked out well for him, didn't it?

He's standing stationary with his back up against the cage and his face wide open. Terrible defense.

Nice to see you're still on my jock

If you'd seen the whole fight, which I doubt, he'd taken a lot of punches before the KO, which explains his less than stellar defence. I don't think anyone can take away a devastating KO like that from Daley.

I've not idea what you're last sentence means.
