ollowing a loss to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 167 over the weekend, Johny Hendricks not only ended up on the wrong end of a split decision, he also wound up on the Nevada State Athletic Commission medically suspended list.
Hendricks mentioned an issue with his right knee in his post-fight medical examination at the arena, so Nevada officials determined that he needed to go get it cleared by an orthopedic doctor or he would have to sit on the sidelines until May 17, 2014.
It’s a common practice for any medical issue a fighter might have that is difficult to fully assess with the limited resources on site after a fight.
Hendricks on Wednesday, however, told UFC Tonight, “I played golf today. My knee is fine.”
