After thumping Brian Ebersole for three rounds over the weekend, UFC 167 winner Rick Story has sights set on the upper tier of the welterweight division.

I was thinking have Rory vs Maia. Two highly ranked Welterweights coming off of Split Decision losses.
And thinking Woodley vs either Hector Lombard or Ellenberger/Saffedine winner.

But I also like Story vs Woodley too. The winner of that fight would probably find themselves at the bottom of the top 10.

I like Story but I don't think he is as high as Woodley right now...I'd give him someone like Kampmann.

I agree with all of this

Woodley/Lombard most likely wound't happen since they have been training together for years. Lawler too.
I personally wouldn't mind this fight. Pretty ballsy to call out someone after that devastating of a performance. Story is tough as hell though and I respect him a lot.
Personally I kind of hope he gets someone like Martin Kampmann next or maybe Gunnar Nelson. That range of fighters would be good. I am still bitter about that split deicision loss to Pyle which was pretty whack

You're right. I wasn't thinking when I posted that matchup. I just read the article earlier today too
about the ATT Welterweights racing for a Title shot. Woodley, Lawler, Lombard and Jason High.

Not sure how id feel about this fight. Only way Woodley wins is if he wrestles him like Brenneman because I think Story is too tough to be stopped and would wall n brawl like he did against Alves to a win.

I would love to see Woodley vs Kampman, Lombard vs Story.
