Besides the obvious sports star, sex machine, playground moderator. What did you want to be when you were little and thought you could be something when you grew up? Also did you get close to being that?

For myself I wanted to be a chef from a very young age, I took a ton of classes, when I was 10, 11, then went to pre college culinary school when I was in high school, then went to culinary school for college. After a while I just lost the passion for it, I still cook, still compete in different cooking things in town etc but I'm good with not being a chef and what I wanted to be when I was a kid.

So what did you want to be?

I wanted to be a marine biologist. I grew up on a lake, and always loved to fish, and was very interested with everything living in water. I also took a vacation to Hawaii when I was young, and seeing all the colorful organisms in the ocean only increased my interest. All my family lives in the MN, so I didn't want to move to persue a job. I also thought about getting a job at the DNR, but they make such a low income, that profession was out the window.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

When I was 4 I wanted to be a Porcupine so I could poke people. No joke. My mom tells people this story all the time. Its extremely embarassing.

When I realized that wouldnt/couldnt happen, when i was 6 or so I wanted to be a detective.

Then as I got a little older, Id say 10ish i wanted to be an architech that designed roller coasters, I always thought that was really cool.

Then when i was in my "prime" for football i wanted to be a football player.

And then after highschool i wanted to become a chef. Ive never taken any classes or anything, Ive picked up styles and what not through cooking shows. Id still like to be a chef, but that doesnt seem like it will ever happen. So thats my list, Im sure i wanted to be some other shit at some time when i was a kid, like a power ranger or zach morris, who knows.

as a kid I loved dinosaurs. I could name off almost any one of them. Show me a flash card of its picture, I could give you the name and a couple characteristics. That lead me to wanting to be a paleontologist (Jurrasic Park didn't do anything to change my mind either). Then as I got older I found new interests, lost my passion for dinosaurs and realized that the job market for that is pretty small and probably not a great career choice.

I wanted to be a police officer. When I was a kid I thought it would be cool carrying a gun and 'saving' people. My oldest brother was in the military and the other was a volunteer firefighter and in my mind I wanted to do something along those lines. I ended up signing up for the junior deputy program in my area and did ride-alongs during local festivals. As I grew up it was brought to my attention that I was small for my age and being a police officer wasn't in my best interests. One of my biggest regrets was not going for it when I had the chance.

Marine biologist. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near an ocean, therefore no schools here teach it, and I had a kid at 18 so moving out of state for college was not going to happen. Ichthyology might have been an option being near a ton of freshwater, but I was more interested in what lived in the ocean. Now I've been entertaining the idea of owning a bar, but it would have to be the right place and the right price, it's way too easy to lose money starting a business in food and drink if you don't have a very good plan going into it. That's probably a few years away at least though.

Wanted to be the GM of a casino for as long as I can remember as a kid.
Went to school for hospitality and tourism in hopes of one day running a bar/restaurant as well.
Currently work in a managerial position for a casino.

I always told myself as long as I had a job where other folks go to get away from their job I'd be happy.

Cop was probably first.
Then tae kwon do instructor (I hold a 2nd degree black belt in the art. And i have over 10 years experience)
Then firefighter
Then body guard
Then through high school I was between firefighter and cop.
With a little bit of personal trainer.
Now I'm looking into maybe getting my cert in personal training. I wanted to go to college for it but I'm not so good in my generals. I prefer to just have to know what I'll acrually need to know for my career instead of all the bullshit that they force on you that you'll likely never need/use

Poker player. From grade 8-12 I probably played 2-3 times a week with my friends and supported my spending habits all through high school with that. I started gradually playing less and less once my friends started going off to school and I realized money is much more important than I thought it was back then. I still play whenever I get the chance but it's maybe a few times a year now.

My great aunt was a professional poker player way back but that ended poorly when debt caught up to her. My parents were always afraid I'd become a poker player too because of that.
