"King" Mo Lawal doesn't believe that Emanuel Newtown did enough to win at Bellator 106. He sure sounds salty.

Link.

This seems a bit funny to me considering "King Mo" just stood there on the receiving end of strikes the majority of the fight.

Can't say I expected anything different from Lawal, though.

I thought it was pretty clear Newton won rounds 2-5. The only round Lawal was truly active was the 1st.

I might have gave Mo the 5th round but there is no way in hell he won. Even if Newton missed on 50 of those spinning kicks, he kept throwing and landing combos.

That paddy-cake "fight" was an embarrassment to Spike TV...and that's saying a lot.

King mo also thinks Emanuel Newton is a skin head. I think that spinning back fist did more damage than anyone realizes.

He wasn't alone, I was shocked to see Josh Gross scored the fight for him. I thought the decsion was pretty obvious. Newton might not have hurt him past the 2nd round but he outlanded him by A LOT of strikes and stuffed almost all of his takedowns after the first. I was very impressed with Newton, I think he's coming into his own.

Queen Mom wins 198 times out of 200 though. Total flukes. If he were to lose again it'd be 297 times out of 300.... Obviously.

can't win a fight so he has to run his month..come on Lawal, ur just a basic wrestler who throws basic one two combos, no leg kicks or knees, u need extra help to ko a weak Gracie..glad i laid money on Newton to win..and those kicks Newton kept throwing was the game winnner..every time Newton threw a combo, he always ended it with a leg kick..like fighters who end their combos, if he was able to throw those kick just a big higher, i'm sure he would caught Lawal with one..Lawal just another sore loser who doesnt have enought mma skills to win a fight so he has to run his month..boohoo grown ass baby..LOLOLOL

It was obvious from the way he reacted that Mo had planned to win on the mat. Once that wasn't panning out, he had no answers for the kick attacks, which is something Newton has always done. The fact he did nothing about it shows he had so much contempt for Newton that he didn't even plan or train in case the TDs weren't there.

Compare Edgar vs Henderson 2 vs Mo vs Newton 2 and you'll see how this all rests on Mo. Edgar knew Henderson was going to low and mid-kick the entire fight and he trained to catch and counter off of them. Mo knew the same and didn't bother to work it in the gym. It also would have been the best way of getting Newton to the mat, but Mo blew it.

It's so satisfying to hear Mo complain, isn't it? Like others have said, you could tell from his comments he wasn't taking Newton seriously (or not taking him more seriously than previously).

Newton looked awkward throughout the fight, but he threw more and def. had the advantage with kicks. I think Mo trained to avoid the spinning back fist, and that's about it. +1 for the smarter fighter here.
