LONG BEACH, Calif. – When Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler heal from an epic rematch that headlined Bellator's biggest event to date, Bjorn Rebney can't see any reason not to put them together again on pay-per-view.

I still wouldn't pay for it.

Maybe I'm alone in feeling this way, but up until Alvarez/Chandler II, the event was pretty weak.

I can't get excited at all to see Straus or Newton fight again either.

This is why they announced Alvarez the winner of a fight he didnt win.

Three 25 min title fights was too much for me
Strauss and newton are not big names for bellator to promote.

Alvarez is a fight away from joining the UFC.
Bellator dropped a goose egg last night. Bjorn knows that

If that event last night were a PPV, #1- I doubt many of us hard-core fans would have ordered it. I know I wouldn't have. #2 - That would have been such an epic failure of an event they probably never would have spoken of PPV again. #3 - The entire broadcast and production was sub-par, at best. At least 3 f-bombs were broadcast during Joe Riggs speech, even with a 3 hour tape delay.

Richman-Stepanyan and Alvarez-Chandler were fun, but other than that... meh. I was definitely let down.

Intrested to see what this PPV card would look like but I would deff be intrested in ordering Chandler Vs Alvarez 3. The rematch lived up to the hype, which rematches never do. I think Chandler won but it was so close I can't get mad. I think the comain event would be Rampage vs Newton or Veigh. Either way major props to Chandler & Alvarez for coming through.

IMO last night's fight >>> then Melendez vs Sanchez.

Do you think the rematch between Alvarez and Chandler last night was better than their first fight?

Personally I think their first fight was better overall, but I don't want to sound like I'm knocking their performances last night because it was definitely a great fight.

As a big Chandelr fan, the first was better because Chandler won haha.

But seriously in a way, this fight might have been better im undecided lol. It had the same twist and turns with Chandler arguably getting a 10-8 in the 4th only to see Eddie come back in the 5th and almost choke Chandler out. It had more damage done to both parties then the first fight despite no clean knockdown's from either fighter.

The only reason the 1st might have been better is because it was more conclusive, the 2nd has more doubts at the end of the fight. For example a lot of people think Mike won, personally I think it comes down to what you favor in a fight. Eddies accurate boxing or Chandler's takedowns which he landed in every round.

Personally I prefered Chander's takedowns because although Eddie was landing good strikes he never really hurt Chander and had him in danger of finishing him (outside the 5th round with the RNC attempt). In fact the best standing strike anyone landed in the fight was mike's 4th round flying knee.

Either way great fight can't wait for the 3rd

Good fight, rubber match not PPV material, I'd watch it on SPIKE.

If the UFC had a card go similarly everyone would be saying how great it was.

Are you talking about the Alvarez/Chandler 2 event?

I don't think so. Riggs/other guy, Curran/Straus and Mo/Newton were very hard to watch. The UFC rarely puts on an event that bad. All of those guys would get destroyed in the UFC by anyone in the top ten in their respective divisions. Alvarez/Chandler were the only two who looked like they could possibly be competitive in the UFC.

The double standard is insane with Bellator.

UFC fans are so vehemently against MMA, it's gotten to be beyond crazy.

So you guys really thought that was a great event?

I wasn't sure if it was just me who thought it was a poor event after watching it, but a lot of MMA sites seem to say the same thing. I can't speak for anyone else, but personally it has nothing to do with a double standard. I just thought the Riggs/Straus/Newton fights were all terrible, and there were only two other fights on the main card. If the UFC had put that event on I wouldn't have enjoyed it any more than I did.
