With four straight knockout wins under his belt, Chad Mendes believes he's just about due for a rematch with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. But he could see himself moving to 135 pounds, at some point, as well.

"That's actually something I have considered, and I definitely could," Mendes said when asked at a weekend Q&A event if he'd ever consider a move to bantamweight. "I'm not the biggest 145-pounder. I think I'm probably medium-sized for 145, but I could definitely make 135 if need be. But yeah, I'd like to make another run, hopefully win the belt at 145, defend it a few times and then depending on what my body says, if it allows it, I'd like to go down to 135, too."

Bantamweight? Really?

I'd like to see him fight Aldo one more time before that happens, but I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him fight Barao.

so does this mean Fabers career is nearing the end? I don't see how two Alpha Male fighters will be in the top 5 for that long without one being a champion

Mendes deserves a rematch with Aldo. Not to take anything away from Aldo's win over him, but he did grab the fence, which prevented the take down and allowed him to follow up with a knee to the head putting Mendes lights out. I'm not saying Mendes would have won, but just that it did lessen Aldo's win a little bit in my mind and I think Mendes has earned a rematch.

I just like the people he gets to fight at FW better...of course it's what ever gets him a belt and all.

Automatic titleshot at BW,

Why? Because that's how the UFC works.

I wouldn't doubt it. Barao has already ran through everyone.

Mendes is a good fighter, but I don't see him winning a title at 145 or 135 as long as Aldo and Barao are the champs.
