UFC president Dana White claims the reason some fighters have to wait so long between fights is due to a full UFC roster.

.....Cut some fighters then!!! There is a ton of guys 90% of the fans could care less to see. Everyone including the UFC benefits if the bigger named fighter fight more.

I'd love to see them bring the WEC back. Especially now that most of the casual fans have been introduced to the lighter guys.

But let's be truthful here.. Most of the roster space is taken up by sub-par TUF talent. Dustin Pague? Cut. Jeremy Larsen? Cut. Nam Phan? Cut.

Stop doing 8 TUF's a year! Do one once a year, and maybe some weight classes other than WW and LW. There's too many LW's, we need more HW, Fly and women's. And as pointed out above, more events. Or... create a secondary league for prospects and new pro's

Absolutely, now a days someone gets signed to the UFC that I've never heard of and I just shrug...we were begging less than four years ago to give guys a shot; Souza, Melendez...I never remember asking for half the guys on the roster..."if I were President"...

Doesnt pro wrestling have a "minor league" of guys who are just starting out and looking to make a name? Why not start one of those. It'd still make money for the company and give the green guys more experience and exposure

The UFC could cut at least 30% of its roster without losing any top 20 fighters in any division, any of the most exciting fighters, or any of the top prospects. THAT is how bloated the UFC is. Its been that way for years, and Dana is just now waking up to it?

More events would just worsen the issue because then the UFC then has to bring in or maintain even more low-end deadbeats. I would be much happier with fewer events a year and smaller cards IF the UFC really owned its status as the premier MMA organization.

I have no problem with them cutting fighters, but I have a problem with Yokami, Fitch, Volkman etc getting cut, but yet they keep Lebin, Hardy, Garcia (I know he is cut now, but he was given way too long of a leash before he was cut).\, etc. The UFC should keep the best fighters in the world regardless of marketability. If they don't like them, set them up with unfavorable matches, but don't just cut them.

I agree with you, that being said being exciting not only helps you keep your job, it helps you book fights faster. To clarify the ufc never leaves the guys that always deliver on the bench to long. Cerrone, Matt Brown, Picket, Erick Perez, Struve are all guys who aren't elite talent that get booked for fights very fast; so my point is there is favoritism when it comes to booking these fighters. Look how long the ufc takes to book figters like Mike Pierce, Nik Lentz, Mike Russow, volkman, Dong Hyun Kim (when they were under contract). Its just an example of why being exciting is not only favourably for keeping your roster space but also getting work.

It is nice tho that the ufc pays them for 3 fights a year even
If they don't get those 3 fights. Its not their fault the roster is jam packed

If they did a tourney, and had a once a week event (like Bellator) called UFC Minor League (or whatever) I think they would be highly disappointed with the amount of views. Saturday would be the night for the format I think...either way, its a bust. Maybe they could go twice a month but keep the PPVs no more than monthly, and that has to have a title on the line.

It's funny you bring up Garcia bc I was just thinking of how Sanchez is the new Garcia. Take away his questionable decisions and he only won 1 of his last 8. At the same time it's nice he's around to put on exciting fights.

I hope they keep some of the exciting fighters, all the elite and cut all the newbies with a below .500 record in the UFC.
