I thought Shogun/Hendo was more dramatic and the decision was much more contrasting. Was the better fight for me.

I have been debating this all night... both fights were pure craziness... I really don't know how to vote.

I'm going to side with Hendo/Shogun. Two legends of the sport trading blow for blow with neither guy backing down. Loved every minute of it.

Hendo/Shogun

but only because that was 5 rounds of an epic battle.

Sanchez was really coming around in the 3rd with that uppercut from hell that planted Melendez . IF ONLY WE GOT TWO MORE ROUNDS!!!

Melendez/Sanchez, but only because its fresher in my mind. I couldnt reallymsay one fight was better, as they were better for different reasons.

heres a good quote from Melendez

“I think at some point, for the fans, we might need to [rematch],” said Melendez. “I don’t think there is anyone tougher than [Sanchez] in this division. There might be guys out there who can beat us on the scorecard, but there ain’t no one who has the balls and guts out there that we do. Doing this together, nothing is ever going to match that.”

I like Melendez/Sanchez. God I wish we would have gotten Rds 4/5 with that one.

Hendo and Shogun was better for me and that was due to both fighters hanging by a thread at one point. Melendez and Sanchez was good but it was too one sided. It was only good because Sanchez's heart won us over.

I have to agree with just about all of this. I was certainly excited the whole fight but until Sanchez put Melendez on his ass it was mostly one sided. Not saying it wasn't an incredible fight but Shogun and Hendo were just smashing each other for 5 rounds.

I think Henderson vs Shogun was better because it was a 5 round fight with non-stop action.

I just watched Melendez/Sanchez for the second time.

I voted for Melendez/Sanchez in the poll, but I was wrong. I'd say Hendo/Shogun was an overall better fight, but that third round of Melendez/Sanchez was the single best five minute round I've ever witnessed.

Give credit where credit is due. Gilbert Melendez absolutely trashed Diego Sanchez, the only thing separating this beating from the one BJ gave him is the extra rounds for Gil to finish of Sanchez. He looked fantastic any way he chose to fight, weather by his own game or swinging into Sanchez game. Lot of respect for Sanchez to not only survive but even try to Hulk Hogan out of his beating to make something happen, the guy has no quit in him. It takes a special guy to make a one sided affair like that so entertaining.

Gil beats Pettis, he did beat Bendo and he is the best LW inthe world.

Entertaining yes, I love watching a Guy Melendez's level do what he does so well and he did what Sanchez does even and better, Sanchez guts add even more entertainment but this wasn't as great a fight to me as many felt it was for them. It was very one sided. Shogun vs Hendo was something far more special to me.

I thought Jones vs Gus was a better overall fight. Grice vs Bermudez and Silva vs Stann ahead of those two as well.
