@arielhelwani Firas just told @tvasports that if GSP does not have the motivation after Hendricks fight, he will retire.

He mentioned before his last fight that GSP has more then enough money to retire an doesn't want to stick around to long. I say if he doesn't need it an hasn't got the drive any more then retire and go out remembered as the greatest ww of all time. No one is going to come near to his level of dominance for a hell of a long time. He'll be seriously missed though no one else pulls anywhere near the ppv figures him an Silva can.

Not really much of a surprise. He has looked like a shell of himself since returning from the injury. I don't know if it was the injury itself or that he got to see how much fighting consumed his entire life during his layoff. I can't fault the man for wanting to enjoy the fruits of his labor while he's still relatively young and healthy. One of the greatest fighters, consummate professionals and genuinely nice individuals the sport has ever seen.

Zahabi also said his workout regimen was not sustainable. Gsp may realize he is slowing down and not want to go out how silva did.

I'm happy for him if he does. What percentage of fighters actually get to leave the sport sitting on their thrown instead of carried on their shield.

I believe he could still get even better (mostly in striking), but it's not like he hasn't proven his abilities. Perhaps he knows something we don't, or really does just want to live life now. There's a lot of options for such an athletic and smart (and rich and famous) individual.

Not that they aren't their own fighters, but he has Carmont to fight for his team in MW, and MacDonald to carry on his legacy (of sorts) in WW.

Well if Nick was fully prepared he could of won. Gsp.couldnt take Nick Diaz down after ( I believe round 2). Lets just hope Johnny is prepared. If he is and Gsp actually fights like a man, then there is a very good chance he losses. Odds are against Johnny, but if he attacks quick like he did vs Condit, then we can expect an upset.

If he retires then great!! No more boring ass main events!!! THANK YOU!!!

If this, if that.

GSP won every round against Diaz, just like he'll do against Hendricks.

That would be a classy move to retire whilst still at the top....that's unheard of in mma of recent years.

lol fully prepared? If you aren't fully prepared for a title fight, you don't belong in the sport. I would love to know where this notion that GSP couldn't take Diaz down that I keep hearing. 3x in round 1, 1x round 2, 2x round 3, 2x round 4, and once more in round 5. Nine times in total

GSP fights his gameplan to perfection. It is up to his opponent to stop him. It takes two to make a fight. But if that's boring to you, I'm sure I can find some exciting fights where Mr Warren gets KTFO because he "fights like a man"
