BARUERI, Brazil – Rousimar Palhares' manager, Alex Davis, doesn't believe his client has ever intentionally injured another human being. That said, he is expecting further sanctions following Palhares' controversial win over Mike Pierce, and he admits the powerful submission ace needs to adjust his approach to fighting.

Right from the horse trainer's mouth.
He admits himself palhares needs to change.
the loss of a bonus isn't a damn punishment, it's not like he was guaranteed that or anything regardless of the outcome.
Cut the unsportsmanlike fool

It's unconscious, a mix of adrenaline and years of being conditioned to not let go.
BS what does he do in training. They cant tell me in training he holds the sub long past the tap.

I'm sure his training partners must love him.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

Ripping someones knee apart like that ends careers and also messes with their health in life. That was totally uncalled for and deserves more of a punishment then that crap.

50 k loss is good enough.
UFC used it to make a excuse to save some money

Palhares is either the dirtiest fighter, the dumbest, or the most unprofessional. Perhaps some combination of the three....

I posted this on the other thread. Once you hear the story I think his actions make more sense:
I don't think you can talk about this incident without the mention of Bustamante v Linland. Paul Harris got his belt from Bustamante. Bustamante fought Matt Lindland back in the day. Lindland tapped Bustamante let go. Then Lindland claimed that he never tapped and big John restarted the fight. So the word is Bustamante told Paul Harris he should always hold his subs until the ref pulls him off just so there would be no controversy. Which is ironic because it has created nothing but controversy.
I don't mean to defend his actions but I think people are being a little hard on the dude.
Also, if it counts for anything Paul Harris stopped plenty early in the Miller fight.

no we're not. Things have come a long way since that fight. Nobody who saw that fight would have said Pierce didn't tap. No need to hold that for that ling. It's a reaccuring theme with this guy. I'm positive that it has been told to him that its not ok to hold on until the ref has to physically pull you off by people other than Murilo.

I think the most damning evidence is when the ref is clearly stoping the fight and Donkey Kong keeps trying to rip his leg off. It looks to me like he actually pulls a little harder as the ref is trying to stop it. If you time it though he holds on about 1 second too long which looks a lot worse in slow-mo than in real time.
