BARUERI, Brazil – Although a knee injury hampered his training for a fight against Joey Beltran at UFC Fight Night 29, Fabio Maldonado was in good spirits following a split call.

Good enough spirits, that is, to make a few requests about his next bout. And Maldonado thought none other than Chael Sonnen would make a good opponent for his next UFC appearance.

i still dont think much of Fabio striking..and the way Fabio leaves his head straight up is asking to be ktfo!..he's not a tall fighter, and taller fighters normally have a straight head, instead of tucking it down..forget Sonnen and Te Huna, give him Shogun or Lil Nog..

His antics kind of annoyed me in the 1st round, I think he thinks he's better than what he actually is.

It may take a round or two but I am confident that Te-Huna would knock out Maldonado.

Te Huna would KTFO Maldonado, Sonnen would probably win by submission. I'd like to see his antics vs a taller fighter like Diabate

fabio is delusional. i think his fight with beltran could have gone either way, it was far from big win. on top of that, the dude is not a big draw. i think he'll get mauled by any of the top 10 LHW's

I like the Te Huna fight. Maldonado would remain the underdog, but I want to see if a) Te Huna has continued to improve his wrestling, and b) Te Huna's reaction to Maldonado's body shots. Decent undercard fight, or even an early main card fight on free TV.
