"Big" John McCarthy has a lot to say about NSAC executive director Keith Kizer, none of it particularly positive in the wake of Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez's judging controversy.

he's been saying what the MMA community has voiced over the last few years...Kizer has to go. Big John even has the inside scoop on his ineptness

McCarthy's no saint either, how about the repeated warnings about Jones using his fingers only not to deduct a point or begging the fight to continue when the commission wanted to stop the fight due to Jones' cut. McCarthy isn't exactly the best official in the sport despite what he wants you to think.

I don't like Keith at all.
I have seen him at the weigh ins a few times out in the open. He is a arrogant prick to people

I still think that John McCarthy is the best referee in MMA.

I agree with some of this and I also disagree with some of this. I think McCarthy is definitely the best referee in the game BUT I think he should have taken a point away from Jon Jones for the fingers. How many times do you have to warn a guy before you take a point away? He warned Jones numerous times.

I don't believe you can deduct a point if there's no actual foul. If he'd poked him in the eye again it would have been one thing, but it never resulted in a foul again.

Sounds more like you have an axe to grind than any legitimate gripe about McCarthy as a ref.

All bets are off with McCarthy, he has a book(s) to sell.

What was he going to take a point for? Also begging is a big step.

McCarthy chuckled about White's assertion of him "pleading" to have the fight continue, though the veteran referee does acknowledge that he advised the ringside physician in regard to the matter.

"We're a team when we're in there," McCarthy explained. "I talked with [the doctor]. He said, ‘It really doesn't look that good.'

"I said, ‘Jason, this is the last round. I think you need to let him go. I will look at it. If it gets worse, I promise you I will bring him to you.' He said okay. That's both of us working as a team together. He let the fight go on, the cut didn't get any worse, and the fight came to its natural conclusion the way it should've."

I'm going to go with this.
