Onetime WEC and UFC bantamweight title challenger Scott Jorgensen is dropping to 125 pounds, and he'll meet Ian McCall in his flyweight debut.
UFC officials on Tuesday announced the new matchup, which takes place at "UFC on FOX 9: Pettis vs. Thomson," which is scheduled for Dec. 14 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif.
The evening's main card airs on FOX following prelims that air on FOX Sports 1 and stream on Facebook. The placement of the Jorgensen (14-7 MMA, 3-3 UFC) vs. McCall (12-4-1 MMA, 1-2-1 UFC) fight wasn't immediately announced.

Jorgensen is going to be one of the bigger guys at Flyweight. Interesting decision on his part. I love this fight though. If he wins this I could definitely see them giving him a title shot.

Fun fight. Nice move from Scott. I'm very interested to see how he'll handle the cut and if it affects his performance. I'll Still be cheering for McCall

I don't think this will be a good move for him. I just can't see him healthy at 125.

That's what I thought about Roop but he is 6 foot 6 and cuts to 110lbs without an issue.

He makes weight but I'm not sure I'd consider him healthy.

Good addition to the flyweight class If he can make the weight. He probably can make some noise in this thin weight class

That's how I was looking at it too. McCall is pretty damned quick with his strikes, if the cut doesn't go well for Scotty he's going to be on the wrong end of a one sided UD

Flyweight is very similar to Light Heavyweight at this point. A few more fights and Mighty Mouse will have cleaned out the division already. They need all the title challengers they can get at 125.
