Nobody beats Aldo in Brazil.

Nobody beats him at 145lbs.

155lbs is where things start to get interesting.

Pettis imo would beat Aldo at 145 or 155. But now that Grant has pulled out of there fight I look for Pettis to get his first title defense out of the way. And then they will make another date for Pettis/Grant. So the earliest we might get a chance to see this would be Summer 2014

I think the last one ended too prematurely and we weren't able to see how well Mendes would have performed. I think he would have given Aldo a good fight.

Definitely not premature

We saw Mendes fail on all takedowns with some help of Aldo's fence grabs. I believe a rematch would just turn into Faber/Aldo.

Pettis is the one guy who I would give a higher percentage of beating Pettis than losing to him (55/45) that said I doubt we see that fight because Pettis has got some contenders - Josh, TJ and Gilbert and Aldo has his own challengers, Mendez, Lamas, Swanson, Edgar/BJ.

You'll have to excuse my poor sentence structure. What I meant to say is the fight did not play out long enough for us to determine how well-matched Mendes is against Aldo.

and that the fence grab 100% prevented Aldo from being put on his ass and the going to the 2nd round

I don't think Aldo will lose at 145 pounds, I also think that Mendes has been overhyped.

I'd love to hear your theory on how Mendes is overhyped as the potential contender to dethrone Aldo

GSP... GSP is the first fighter before your start to get into the MW division that can beat Aldo... And that's only via wrestle hump.
