If Glover Teixeira was
watching UFC president
Dana White's recent Google
angout his may eyebrows may
have raised when White said that
current top ten heavyweight
Daniel Cormier may be the fighter
that gets the next shot at the UFC
light heavyweight title.

lol... that's pathetic, but that's how the UFC works.

Cormier comes to the UFC and pins Mir against the cage for 15 minutes in a performance that was anything but impressive, and now all he has to do is beat Roy Nelson for a shot at Jon Jones? That's just ridiculous IMO.

The path that Cormier will have taken is sorta wonky, but he's probably the best challenge for Jones, and he certainly has the credentials. Wrestling superstar, dangerous power, undefeated in MMA, beaten Barnett, Bigfoot, and Mir in last 3 wins.

It does kinda suck that Cormier will not have had to beat even a single LHW to get the title shot, but it still doesn't diminish the rest of the factors.

I'd rather see that fight anyway, don't give Glover much of a chance, I think Cormier Coutures him

Doesn't make sense.
Daniel will probably need 6 months to go from heavyweight to 205. In the mean while have Glover face Jones

to everyone complaining about title shots in the UFC, remember Pride would give title shots to guys on a 3 loss streak

PRIDE also had a fraction of the roster the ufc has and most of them were cans used to boost another fighter's popularity.

in the event DC cannot cut to 205, then what? Has he even done a legit trial cut?

Man that's total bullshit. Glover has earned the shot taking out tough light heavyweights. Cormier's UFC debut was somewhat lackluster against a washed up Frank Mir and now takes on Nelson. I think with a win give Cormier a shot at the winner of Chael and Evans. Or Phil Davis.. He needs to earn that title shot in my opinion. I believe Dana wants to set this up so badly due to the turmoil between Jones/Cormier.

Cormier would definitely be the best wrestler that Jon Jones has ever faced.

The only reason this doesn't bother me is that there really isn't anyone else for jones at lhw. Machida and gegard left, glover and gus will be dispatched, and that leaves us with big tuna (if he beats shogun) and davis. I guess you could make a case for davis if gets a top level win but his recent performances don't leave me inspired.

However, instead of a title fight what if jones did as anderson did and just stepped up a weight class to fight a bum or a lower tier hw to pass the time?
