In addition to a major heavyweight championship trilogy, October's UFC 166 event features 13 total bouts, a preliminary card full of familiar names, and a main card that kicks off with a pair of flyweights.

UFC 166 takes place Oct. 19 at Houston's Toyota Center. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and Facebook.

The big men take center stage at the fall event. In the headliner, heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (12-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) and former titleholder Junior dos Santos (16-2 MMA, 10-1 UFC) meet in a rubber match. In the co-headliner, Daniel Cormier (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) likely fights at heavyweight for the final time when he takes on Roy Nelson (19-8 MMA, 6-4 UFC).

166 is without a doubt one of the best cards of the year for me on paper.

RELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)
Tim Boetsch vs. Luke Rockhold
Hector Lombard vs. Nate Marquardt
Jessica Eye vs. Sarah Kaufman
K.J. Noons vs. George Sotiropoulos

This could easily be a UFC on Fox main card lineup. And a good one at that.

No way in hell that's a Fox main card. Maybe an FS1 main card.

Best shown Prelims ever on tv.

UFC starts stacking the ppv fights. They will see their buyrate go back up like it was a few years ago

Great card not really feeling the lineup placement though. I umderstand the idea of having sexy namrs on the prelims so people order the ppv but both rhe Rockhold & Lombard fights should be ppv. Dodson & Jordan should both deliever on the preliminary card & have the same effect (no disrespect yo their opponents). Plus Olivera on the facebool portion after delivering in the co main event on onr of the biggest cards of the year? (Ufc 162). Love the card just needs some fine tuning. & on second thought atleast Charles will prob finish fast & they will prob show his fight anyway
