Team Alpha Male standout Chad Mendes did everything in his power to make sure he wasn't the odd man out in the crowded featherweight title picture, becoming the first man to knock out Clay Guida in his 44 professional fights.

With the decisive victory, "Money" has now made it four straight victories, all knockouts, since losing to divisional champ Jose Aldo at UFC 142 in January.

I'd like to see Lamas/Mendes, that way they can go ahead and set up Aldo/Pettis

I was thinking this myself brother. If Pettis is fighting Grant I say Aldo should face Lamas but if they make the superfight of Aldo vs Pettis then Mendes facing Lamas makes the most sense.

I think they both earned a shot at Aldo for sure, but Lamas gets it first imo.

I think jae was referring to both Lamas and Mendes earning their shot against Aldo.

Aldo has a list of guys to face.
I do think Mendes is the number one contender.

I think Swanson vs Edgar
Mendes vs Diego brandao

Have llamas vs Aldo in Jan Brazil.
Or shit no co main for Vegas ppv
20 th anniversary

Book Aldo vs lamas as co main
Add Edgar vs Swanson

The only problem with waiting on Aldo/Pettis and making them defend their belt more before fighting each other is that it could turn out just like GSP/Silva or Jones/Silva in the sense that the fight could easily be ruined before it ever happens. I say fuck that. Let them go ahead and fight now before it's too late and we miss out on another excellent superfight.

too early for me to be posting

I would say Mendes and Lamas have earned their shots too... I would also say let Lamas go first, just because he never had a crack at the belt.

Maybe do Mendes-Edgar in the meantime? Put Cub Swanson up against Elkins perhaps?

Add Edgar vs Swanson

Mendes would absolutely destroy Diego...it would be short and brutal. Swanson vs Edgar would be fun though.

Aldo or Lamas next is perfect. If Aldo fights Pettis at 155, Lamas vs Mendes should be the proper interim title contest. If Aldo fights Pettis at 145, then it would be a number one contender match. If Aldo is to fight a 145 challenger, I prefer Mendes rematch over Lamas but have no problem if Lamas gets the fight, then Medes vs Edgar or Swanson.
