On Tuesday's episode of UFC Tonight, it was reported that Stefan Struve has been diagnosed with a leaking aortic valve, as well an enlarged heart. Struve is currently in good spirits but is still waiting to see if he will be able to resume his promising MMA career.

Below is a detailed statement from Struve's manager Lex McMahon about Struve's condition and his future

Definitely sucks to hear. I guess I am not too surprised to find out that seven foot Struve (or 6'11½ whatever the UFC says these days) has these issues. Between these issues and his KO losses, maybe it's time for him to hang it up

That really sucks. I'm pretty sure he won't be allowed to fight

This sucks, man. The first fight of his I watched was against JDS, so you can imagine I didn't really have high hopes for him after watching that fight. Obviously he improved a lot after that fight though, and he became one of those fighters that I enjoyed watching because he just kept improving every time I saw him. He surprised me consistently. It was impossible not to like the guy.

Damn shame

I wonder if the lack of a cuspid in that valve caused the enlarged heart? If the heart has always had to work 30% harder for him as the article implies, I imagine one caused the other. I hope he gets well but I don't expect to see him back

He is the kind of guy to fight after a zipper job, he's young with health care, it may not be over. At least thats what I hope. Good Luck Mr. Struve
