Bjorn Rebney had a holy grail of MMA. He went after it, and in November he'll make it a reality.

That's when the Bellator MMA CEO will cross two things off his bucket list: Seeing a fight between former champions Quinton Jackson (32-11 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Tito Ortiz (16-11-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), and putting on his company's first pay-per-view event.

Rebney long has talked about his desire to delve into the pay-per-view landscape with Bellator. After signing former UFC light heavyweight titleholder Jackson earlier this year, he knew coaxing Ortiz out of retirement would be the second piece of the puzzle...

Of the epic battles that I wanted to see that I never got a chance to see, what was No. 1 on my list? And 'Rampage'-Tito was No. 1 on my list

Shenanigans. I'm sorry, but you can't convince the fans of that merely by the power of suggestion. I guess a promoter's gotta promote though.

He is hinting at the end there that this will be an epic line up...lets hope so because Tito vs Page sucks!

Now that they're committing to this, that puts a huge weight on their shoulders. If this PPV is a flop, then what?

The card better have Curran defending, Chandler defending, and Shlemenko defending.

There's no way they make enough to even cover the fighter salaries.

I hope Bellator does well but they should of just stuck with spike tv. FREE MMA is the wave of the future.

Committing to a PPV with the headliners being Rampage and Ortiv is insane. I doubt either man makes it to the weigh ins. Especially if they're gonna be working the TNA scene as well...

They should have figured out a way to pull off Randy v Fedor. It would be a little late but I would apperricate the effort far more

Fedor's demands are probably no less insane now than they were 4 years ago.

I really hope this doesn't put Bellator under. Pulling off this pay per view and getting the sells needed is almost impossible. Hate to see such a good promotion gamble with their future. Hopefully they stack the card and at leastbreak even

If that's anyone's no.1 fight they want to see I'm guessing they're not much of a fan. This fight would be easy to predict whether it was 2006 or 2013.

They are selling the names over the records, and they are not the only, or the largest, promotion who has been doing more of that lately. I think the fact that Rampage and Tito have a combined 50 UFC fights with over 40 of them being the Co-Main or Main event has a lot more to do with this booking then does their recent records. BFC is catering to who the UFC caters to, the fans who see names above all else and don't know any better.

Does anyone really think the UFC wouldn't make Rampage vs Tito a Co-Main event or Main Event in 2013. They would for the same reasons.

The H-core fans are going to be watching for all the fights that are not Rampage vs Tito primarily, with that fight only holding nostalgic or sentimental value over that of BFC best fighters fighting to them. It's two of the sports all time most popular and well known fighters who happened to also of been (not still today) at one point two of the sports greatest as well. That is the promotional hook on a big part. All the other fights are just going to be bonuses for MMA fans who like to watch fights.

I'd like Curran or Chandler to headline this though.

I consider a card like this, give or take a competitor or two, to have a value equal to many of the UFC PPV offerings that have rolled along the past couple of years:

Chandler vs Jansen
Curran vs Frodo
Page vs Tito
Minakov vs Volkov
Lawal vs Newton
or
Shlemenko vs Manheof

Now it is very wishful thinking to expect to see it shake down with these fights, but something approaching it would be acceptable. I have a feeling they will use TNA Wrestling PPV prices though, $34.99 a few times and once thy did $39.99. Not gonna pretend to be so elite that I'm above watching good fights or wouldn't pay for them if it was the option.
