Yeah fucking right. A flat footed fighter like glover will lose to Jones 99.9 times outta 100.

Jon Jones is about as sure as bet as it gets. he does no not have any glaring weakness like other champs and to add on to that his physical attributes. At HW I could see him losing but at LHW I just don't see anyone quick/big enough to handle his reach along with his striking and wrestling.

I must echo the majority. Glover has looked real good. But he needs more time. Jon Jones progressed a lot since his debut. Let's see if Glover does the same, or even gets afforded the luxury of build up fights. He's already finishing people like it's the thing to do. (Except Rampage, but it took Jones 4 rounds to get a finish)

I think this fight could be a lot more competitive than others so far have suggested.

Glover's only significant weakness that I've noticed is that he's often reckless in his striking. Jones doesn't have the striking power to make him pay for it. Of course Jones will probably be able to force this fight to the ground, but Glover is one of the better grapplers that Jones will have faced and won't make it easy for him once there.

Personally, I'd say Glover has as good a chance at beating Jones as any other current LHW...which is to say about 1 in 4.

This I can agree with. Look at who is at 205, Glover's chances of beating Jones are not worse then most of those guys. Not great chances, but I wouldn't be surprised if Glover made a fight out of it.

I am inclined to agree with machida. I've always believed that the fighter that give Jon jones problems is a heavy handed wrestler who can take a shot coming in. Glover has a strong case for being that guy IMO.

That's an interesting point.

I could see Machida beating Weidman if Anderson loses to him again.

0thers pointed out he is flat footed, and there is no way his wrestling will match up against Jonny Bones Jones, furthermore he will not wade his way into range, throwing haymakers, Jones control of the range is Hard-core, and nevermind that Jones never gets called on open finger shoves.

It really makes Machida and Soares look stupid to say, another lower ranked contender can beat Jones, why should we wanna see Machida fight Jones? especially since this lack of confidence comes a long time after getting choked out and dropped on his face.

He is 33 I'm not sure how much time he has left.

I think any of the guys currently at that weight would have long odds. I'd probably give Teixera as good a chance as Gustaffson or Davis and I'd see all three as 3-1 underdogs. Everyone else would be worse.

But I do think Silva moving up or Cormier moving down, both of which have been discussed at different points, would be more competitive matchups. I would still favor Jones in both cases, but I doubt you'd be seeing an "underdog bonus" under either name.

If you read the title on the thread it sounds that way. But the actual text of what he said doesn't imply that he isn't seeing himself as able to beat Jones as well:

"I think Glover, he's great technique, he's a very strong guy. He's training to fight and he can beat Jon Jones one day. He's good. He's difficult to take him down, he defends all the time and good cardio too. I think Glover can beat Jon Jones."

But I think he will drop to 185 if he loses himself at 205 and if Anderson Silva isn't the champ at 185.
