I don't blame him, Rustam is way down the totem pole compared to Barboza. Lose lose for Barboza if he takes it

Khabilov is a scary dude, and this fight would have been awesome. Barboza still isn't that high on the totem pole in my opinion. Oliveira was 1-2 in his last three going into the fight with Barboza, and Lucas martian was a sacrificial lamb.

I think this would have answered a lot of questions about both fighters. Can Khabilov stay in a fight with a good striker if he can't get it to the ground? Can Oliveira deal with pressure?

He's really not though.

Barbosa is in Rustam's league and if hew wants to move up he should fight him.

I disagree completely, I'll take Njokuani, Pearson, and Etim above...who the hell is Vinc Pinchel? Not saying Rustam isn't skilled, he just doesn't have a win that makes me think he belongs in there with Boza

Except that apparently Barboza is scared of him.

If you turn down a fight you get cut, end of story.

Weidman wasn't on Silva's level either until he beat him.

I disagree completely, this is someone's job we're talking about here. You can't just fire someone because they turn down one opponent.
I don't agree with Barboza refusing to fight but at the end of the day he didn't accept and will have to get someone new.

Barboza/Guillard sounds amazing if that were to happen

Barboza said after his last win that he wanted his next fight to be against someone in the top 5 in the rankings. He's not scared, he's looking for a high ranked opponent that will probably be even tougher than Khabilov. I was actually surprised when they announced this fight because I remembered him saying that.

Top 5 lol. God that is nasty because this is the kind of guy I think Zuffa desperately wants to be able to stuff down viewers throats and would give himj a fight he couldn't handle. He's more like a top 30 or 40 guy and would probably lose to Rustam anyways. Good duck by Barbosa, if this story is true.
