Improvement of action in a fight?
Can the UFC afford to?

I kinda like the idea, but the more i think about it no way. What if its a super early stoppage, or even a stoppage like Carmouches fight tonite, no way that would deserve a bonus. But for your other question, FUCK YES the UFC could afford it. They would never do it though.

EDIT: LOL, i didnt even answer your 1st question. I think it mite actually increase action, but im still not 4 it

I'm feeling like it's about to happen: official bonuses for ever stoppage.

I think that just may work! Bonuses may be a little less, but knowing you are guaranteed an extra fat paycheck for a finish may motivate some of the fighters to go for it.

I like it, and I do believe it would increase the amount of finishes.

That's what I thought about right away: bonuses would be less, but I think most fighters would be okay with it. As long as it's not a ridiculously small bonus I can't see why many would complain.

I like it, but there is only one problem. It would have to be a flat rate to be fair, but then it wouldn't have the same impact on the guys that already make a good living. Let's say it's an extra 10k for a finish...is 10k really all that motivating for a guy that's pulling a few hundred grand or more. And is it worth the risk when your win bonus it much larger than a finish bonus? I think what it will do though is provide extra motivation for the guys not already making bank, with the added benefit of it not being subjective like the OTN bonuses. That alone would actually do the UFC a favor by reducing the number of complaints over pay, since the bonus is completely in each fighters' hands. All around, I think it's a solid idea.

I think they do. Kinda like they do on TUF 5k for a finish. You know?

If there making 16/16 then some added bonus 5k for finish or a % of there pay.

Just a bonus no one needs to know about.

$5K just like TUF, it's kind of weak but at least an incentive program.

If they're only gonna be doing 5-10K bonuses per finish than I doubt fighters would be for it if that means eliminating the bigger FOTN/KOTN/SOTN bonuses.

Yeah, I'd think they'd need to make it 50k in order for it to have much effect.

Even if it's only 25-30K, that's much better than 5-10K.

I don't see it happening, though.

The easy sell to the UFC would be the fact that they would get what they pay for. A card with all decisions is cheap for them. A card with all finishes would be expensive, but pays off on the back end when the positive attention from the media brings more eyes to the product.

Unofficially, this already happens
When someone gets a nice finish or puts on a gutsy performance, Dana makes it worth their while ($$$$)
If you win in boring shitty fashion, Dana does everything he can to make sure you'll lose your next fight.... on Facebook. Even if you're talented, he'll hold you back as long as he can (See- Jon Fitch)

I like the idea myself I say the UFC can afford to give atleast 20k for every finish on an event.

Jon Fitch held himself back. No one hate lauzon when he loses or is he ever in danger of getting cut. Fitch even now has a better skill set than lauzon but just won't put it all on the line.

Don't blame that shit on Dana White. Why the Fuck would he care about a shitty boring lower mid card fighters. Out of hundreds of fighters he chose ONE to hold back.
