I thought Lawler was going to get KO of the night.

Yeah, I was expecting Lawler to take KOTN, and I wouldn't have been surprised if Edwards/Cruickshank Cruickshank had earned FOTN. There wasn't as much damage, but it was a lot more technical. Plenty of action for sure.

Lawler gets my nod for stud of the night

We saw why Robbie has more fans than Wanderlei Silva has excuses.....and that's saying something

I liked Masvidal's sub better than DJ's but both were pretty nasty

I agree, I would've picked Masvidal and Lawlor but they got FOTN right for sure

Herman/Smith was awesome. They were beating the heck out of each other. Knockout blows were landed and taken... I thought for sure they were KOed multiple times, but they just punched right back.

If you compare that fight to "great" fights of the past, it is just as good. Perhaps we have all become desensitized to great fights after witnessing so many of them.

For me it's more about the fact that it was so sloppy. I know everyone else seems to love that type of stuff, but I have a hard time watching fighters who just walk in with their chin up in the air and get tagged repeatedly. It was a great fight without a doubt, but I like a little more technique than just seeing guys walk into punches like that. Their accuracy was probably very high because their defense was so poor, lol.

I was thinking Edwards/Cruickshank would get the FOTN, but perhaps Dana isn't a fan of little boy briefs. For my friends who weren't sure who which fighter was, I just referred to him as thong man and all was understood.
I also liked Masvidal for SOTN.
I could go either way on KOTN, I like head kicks more but there's also something to be said about the koed victim waking up screaming.

What Herman vs Smith might of started to lack in th technical department was more then compensated for in the entertainment department. Both guys brought it well.
