Nelson (19-8) tweeted Cormier on Thursday asking what the hold-up is...

doesn't Nelson need a UFC contract first?

Nelson just lost. Why does Cormier even want to fight him?

Either way if DC pulls out another performance like the one he had against Mir, I won't be too excited to see him fight anyone. Which is kind of sad because I bet on him to win the Grand Prix in Strikeforce as an alternate and he was red hot entering the UFC

He fought the fight he needed to fight. You can't have him shoulder much of the blame either, Mir was begging to be put against the cage since he kept closing the distance and tying up with DC who is the superior fighter in that condition.

Nelson is still a good name for DC to build a title run on...especially with Barnett already taken out of the picture. His only other likely bout would be Miocic IMO.

DC had a good game plan and executed. I know most people don't like a fight that takes place against the cage but Mir is one of only 2 guys in the UFC DC is afraid to take down. My guess is DC isn't afraid of Roy's guard and we'll get to see some brutal GnP. I think the disappointment of DC stems more from the fact we are all hoping he can give Bones a run for his money so the bar is set too high.

I love this matchup Jae. More so than the fight against Roy. Stipe's technical boxing vs DC's looping power punches intrigues me. The question would be if Miocic could negate Cormier's takedowns and clinching.

I understand. All I am saying is that if DC puts in another snoozer against big country, I am just not all that hyped in watching him fight that much. It's one thing to get a win on your way to working up to a title fight, but as long as Cain has the belt he is just grinding out potential contenders.

This fight made more sense before, but I heard DC had no interest and wanted a Nog / Werdum winner instead. Roy was on a tear, and was a scary opponent for any HW, and than a talented up and comer beats Roy. Now he wants to fight him? DC should drop or not and stop using that as a tease. Than he should fight someone coming off a win.
