It took just days for Anderson Silva to change his mind. His legacy as a champion was not over. His immediate rejection of a rematch would not stick. He wanted a sequel with Chris Weidman, and there was no reason to wait.

So on Saturday, exactly one week after "the Spider" got caught in Weidman's web, the Brazilian legend signed a bout agreement for UFC 168 on Dec. 28. He is favored to win the rematch, at least according to oddsmakers, but most think he will need to fight more conservatively, to tone down his antics of bobbing, weaving and taunting. After all, it was in the immediate seconds after pretending he had been wobbled when Weidman stepped in and landed the game-changer.

But Silva? He doesn't want to hear any talk that he's gone too far...

Pretty tough to hit Weidman when you aren't throwing punches. He said the same thing when he went off the deep end during the Maia fight 'couldn't find my range'. What range? In that fight after he got done clowning Maia for 2 rounds he took to basically hiding behind the ref at one point. I feel like I just got trolled.

That's just it. It DOES go too far. If he'd stopped doing it after the first round, it would have been vintage Silva and been fine. To keep doing it, it gets to be old hat, and cost him a title.

So you assume Weidman sucks and can only win when Silva lets him?

I would not say that he sucks (PG rules) but definitely can only beat Silva under those kinds of circumstances.

No, I'm saying that his action of pretending to be hurt by the left hook is what caused him to be KO'd in that exchange.

Well I guess getting KTFO is just part of the show too. I really don't see this fight going any other way. Weidman just has his number. Hes lucky he didn't get that boxing match with Roy Jones!

Really? You were that impressed with Chris? You don't think had Anderson utilized a better game plan he would have any chance at winning? I personally feel like if Anderson fought a conservative fight and displayed the TD defense he did in the second he would have had Chris out of there in 3.

Chris beats Silva standing 1 out of 1000 times.
Chris can win this fight again, but it sure as hell won't be TKOing him standing.
Anyone who think Chris has Silva's number in the striking department is foolish.

Grappling is a whole different story.
Chris could possibly do what he did in round 1 for 5 rounds in the next fight.

I was super impressed with everything Chris did in that fight! He definitely won the first round. With his take down and ground and pound and sub attempt. Plus he was lading the jab and hanging with Anderson in the stand up department. He was the first guy I've seen that actually believed he could beat him. I don't think he's better then Anderson at striking but I think he will hang in there and continue to establish the takedown. plus it really seems like Anderson needed a break from having all the pressure of the title on his shoulders.and what happens hes forced into the automatic rematch ,still the favorite still all the pressure on his shoulders. I'm thinking he will fight smarter and we will see a way different fight but I still see Weidman coming out on top. But hey we all get to see at UFC 168

Silva also seemed annoyed by rumors of a fix, saying no true fan would ever suggest such a thing...

And this.
