Of course Dana wants this fight.
First of all, its only fair. Anderson has been the champion for 7 years. He's defended the title 10 times. He's won 16 fights. In that time, he's stepped up whenever the UFC needed him. He's fought out of his weight class. He's delivered the most spectacular finishes in the history of the sport.
There is no question that he deserves an immediate rematch, regardless of the circumstances of his loss. Normal rules don't apply because he's not a normal fighter.
Second, this is the route to the most money. Weidman vs Silva 2 is going to be a huge draw. Can the greatest champion of all time take back his belt? Was it a fluke? Is Weidman truly the new king? People will tune in to figure that out.
On top of that, think of the super fights. Dana mentioned that Anderson's loss cost Jones, GSP, and Anderson a lot of money. Guess who else it cost a lot of money? The UFC. If Andy gets his belt back, we can start talking about Super Fights again.
