LAS VEGAS – Chris Weidman promised to ruin the UFC's plans for a superfight, and he made good on his end of the bargain. And while Anderson Silva doesn't seem interested in a rematch, UFC President Dana White believes it'll happen.

And this is partly why imo losing for silva wasn't such a great idea.

thosr saying silva wasnt himself and didn't really want to win are delusional and must have amnesia.

silva does the same stuff every fight only this time he got caught.

id still like to see the superfights though because im 100% confident he would lose both. To GSP and Jones

Silva was FINALLY exposed last night. He did absolutely nothing right in that fight and finally fought someone who was game and wasn't rattled by his ridiculous taunting

Bas alway's say's for a rematch to happen the fight had to be close decision or a 1st round KO. This fight was neither and I'm with Bas, also screw these instant rematches this isn't the WWE. Hell even GSP didn't get a instant rematch, Matt Hughes got injured and GSP beat Koscheck. Ohhh wait that happened before the year 2010 birth of the rematch clause.

I don't like instant rematches either but if anyone deserves it, it would be Silva....I just like the glimpse of a new possibility. A MW Division that has multiple options, multiple competitors that could rally for the belt, shit even guys who could step up on short notice in order to get the belt...it's just more fun! GSP losing would not be bad either, it could do wonders for the WW division. Super Champs are fun for a while, but just like Fedor all Emperor's must eventually fall.

you know, if silva doesnt want a rematch, than dana needs to just let it be. it sounds to me like silva is glad to have the weight of the belt off his shoulders. plus, the guy 38 years old and is easily the best champion in ufc history. if he wants to move on, just let him.

I want to see an immediate rematch because I know Silva will take it seriously this time.

He DOES NOT do that with everyone he fights. He didn't do it against Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort, Rich Franklin, Yushin Okami, Nate Marquardt, and plenty of other people.

He does it against guys he doesn't take seriously and doesn't respect. He thought Weidman was one of those guys he could clown and he was proven wrong in dramatic fashion.

Now that Weidman has his respect (remember that Andy's team didn't even think the guy deserved a shot) we can see a legitimate contest between them.

5 out of 17 fights isnt enough imo to say he doesnt do it every fight. He does it a MAJORITY of the time because he is a counter puncher and tries to get them to strike first. That IS his game plan
