Although Anderson Silva shunned initial ideas of an immediate rematch after losing his belt to Chris Weidman at UFC 162, he now wants to take a step back.

This is BS, if he wants to wait let him, there's plenty of fighter's at 185 that want a taste of that belt. I frikkin' hate log jams like this.

I'm okay with an immediate rematch. I have little interest in watching Weidman fight Bisping or Belfort next.

Oh yeah because there's someone else at 185 who is more deserving than a guy who's like 17-1 in the UFC.

good call jay. I knew Silva wouldn't step back. Everyone says emotional shit after a loss, especially via TKO

I'm fine with an immediate rematch. I think it makes the most sense personally. Belfort wouldn't be a bad option either. Weidman/Belfort is an excellent fight.

Little interest in Weidman-Belfort? Sounds like a knee-jerk reaction to an opinion you disagree with. I don't see how anyone wouldn't be very interested in seeing that fight. I don't have any problem with an immediate rematch given the current state and history of the MW division, but if Silva wants his 6 months in between fights or for some other reason doesn't want to do an immediate rematch, there is no other matchup that is better right now. Bisping shouldn't even get a mention for a title shot right now. He's only beaten Belcher since getting stopped by Belfort. I know guys have gotten title shots with less, but they were not exactly earned. Bisping is probably only a top 10 win away, but he finds himself in a pretty familiar position; he's right on the cusp, but with at least 1 guy more deserving ahead of him.

I just feel like Andy did everything in his power to win the first fight and still loss. I just don't know what he could possibly do different... other than fight him of course.

if there is no rematch then it has to be vitor who gets the next shot. I guess Anderson is taking a page from Dwight Howard's book and keeping everyone waiting.
