Eddie Alvarez won't be fighting any time soon if his case with Bellator MMA goes to trial. According to documents filed Monday in U.S. district court, the two parties aren't required to see each other in court until after Sept. 15, 2014.

Eddie's gonna be irrelevant by the time he fights next. i hate this whole situation because i like ballator and im a big Eddie Alvarez fan. sounds to me like they are just trying to be as difficult as possible for each other.

When I first read the title I LOL'd because I thought it said:
"will stretch well into 2044"
Although its in the hands of the lawyers so maybe its a misprint and they meant that after all.

Can't say I'll be to excited to watch a 32 year old guy fight the best the UFC has to offer after a almost 3 year layoff. Sucks for Alvarez and its painting Bellator in a shitty light even if it is the lawyers!

Awesome. Nothing like shelving a fighter who's stock will drop as his age increases to show that you care about your fighters.

He signed the contract and thinks he's above fulfilling it.
Edit: Pretty irresponsible behavior from a guy who seems to have another child born every 6 weeks.

At this point he should just fight for Bellator. I understand he thinks they're wrong, which is why you never sign jack shit unless you're 100% sure it's what you want. He was never top flight in the first place and UFC won't pay him anything after 2014.
