Instead of three events during its annual "Summer Series," Bellator MMA this year will host just two.

Sources close to the promotion confirmed that plan to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) not long after its first event of the summer, Bellator 96, which took place this past Wednesday at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla.

Bellator 97 takes place July 31 at Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, N.M., near Albuquerque, but there will not be an August event. Instead, the promotion simply will roll into the start of its ninth season, which opens Sept. 7 with what will be Bellator 98...

Same here, this is because they dropped to a four man tourney in both the HW and LHW divisions. That just shows a lack of depth and a desperation to get King MO a title shot. They need to build up the heavier divisions or give them up completely.

They could have scranged up four
Heavyweights for their tourney
They lack depth. They really need to sign some guys

They have guys from the Las season still out there, they could always line up a Monson, Sylvia, Olienik, etc...names make money, no matter how over rated or past their prime they are. LHWs really should not be that hard to find either. Try TUF outcasts that are still fighting like Lambert.

I prefer the no-name ultra-violent Russians they've found to the people who couldn't make it in the UFC.

Oh, bro so do I...don't get it wrong! I was just saying if you can't find the good talent, then do a quick fix and get us nostalgic types a reason to tune in...and don't cheapen the tourney.
