After nearly 13 years as a professional fighter, Seth Petruzelli will step away from the cage. The 33-year-old Petruzelli made the announcement Friday morning following a knockout loss to Muhammed Lawal at Bellator 96.

I never like to hear of any fighter retiring.

I hate to see a fighter retire after something so devastating.

So true...that was devastating.

Seth had power, but he knew that he didn't have much to offer the sport beyond that. Getting crushed like that makes you rethink your priorities and at 33 years old, I think he's making a smart move. Focus on the gym.

Edit: just saw this topic at the bottom of the page:
Would have retired if Ricco Rodriguez beat him

Breaking News: Mike Kyle slipped on a banana peel. Kimbo Slayer is in.

I don't know what it is about mma but it produces more Brett Farves than any other sport. I wouldn't be surprised to see him fight Jens Pulver in a loser leaves town match and then again for the rubber match.

That truly was one of the most fantastic knockouts I have ever seen. It has to suck to be on the wrong end of that, to say the least.

Thanks for knocking out Kimbo, Seth. We owe you one.

As far as Seth, who cares! He talked so much smack before this fight and got owned. At least he will be only be known for bringing down Elite Xc!!
