Babalu retired last night after his 3rd round TKO loss to Jacob Noe. I've enjoyed a lot of his fights over the years. I remember watching the countdown to his rematch with Liddell and being so amped... Those were the days!

Good luck, Babalu! Thanks for the fights

Too bad most people will remember him for being the guy that Chuck kicked in the face.

He had one of the best staredown-faces. Maybe second only to Wandy. It's subjective.

I'll always remember the Heath fight:

Call me odd but he is my all time favorite fighter. This is mainly due to my loyalty as I started watching mma way back during like UFC 13. I am a total 90's kid and originally liked his tats and his banger style (didn't ever really do him well though) that led to take downs and strong submissions usually from the top. Kind of why I like Thiago Silva (but his banging does pay off). My only regret is the way his last fight went and ended. I will go to his school to train when I return to Cali.

For quiet a while it seemed like he was the biggest, legit threat to Chucks LHW title.

Thanks for the memories. I'm glad I have a lot of them from him instead of just those from recent history.

He was on a roll leading up to that second Liddell fight, something around 10 fight win streak against good comp.

He was a top ten staple at HW and LHW for the better part of the 2000's, his resume is legit as it gets.
