Roy Nelson is either a professional troll or a fool. Neither deserves attention.

Roy should know the UFC are waiting for him to slip up, next loss could be his last fight.

"The phrase "Uncle Tom" has become an epithet for a person who is slavish and excessively subservient to perceived authority figures, particularly a black person who behaves in a subservient manner to white people; or any person perceived to be a participant in the oppression of their own group.

So if Roy thinks Cormier is trying to be Dana's golden boy by brown nosing and being overly subservient, then he used it in the right context without being racist.

This over sensitive world is getting out of hand! Come on! Grow a spine and quit making everything about you!"

Maybe its lost in translation across the Atlantic, but "Uncle Tom" is not an acceptable term over here in the states. Might as well have called him a house n----r or race traitor.

I get that there is too much PC in the world, but I don't think this is one of those situations. Read Uncle Tom's Cabin. That's where the phrase comes from. To call a black man an Uncle Tom in the US is to belittle them both as a slave (and therefore a lesser human) and a brown noser. The brown noser part is fine. Trying to put a black man down by likening him to an obedient slave is not.

I live in America, and I don't consider the term "Uncle Tom" to be unacceptable.

I think people get offended far too easily these days. Like calling Cormier an "Uncle Tom" is the worst thing Roy could've called him. Some people are acting like Roy called him a nigger, or that calling him an Uncle Tom is just as bad or worse than that. C'mon people.

Seriously, it's not that big of a deal. People are making too much of it.

So because he used an offensive term in the context that the offensive term is usually used, its okay?

So basically you're saying I couldn't use the n-word to refer to a white person, but it would be okay if that person is black?

This isn't a case of being over sensitive. This is Nelson using an inappropriate and racially charged term to refer to someone based on their skin color.

Nope, people are just overreacting.

It's funny how any race can call white people whatever they want and nobody ever says a word about it, but God forbid a white guy call a black guy an Uncle Tom.

I bet Cormier cares less than most of you do.

White guy doesn't find Uncle Tom to be an offensive term and complains about the fact that white people can't use racial slurs like others can.

Can't argue with that I guess.
