Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Hall-of-Famer Chuck Liddell likes to one-up his former rival, Tito Ortiz, in as many ways possible.

It wasn't that long ago when "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" told reporters he would have "dominated" current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones had they ever fought when Ortiz was in his prime.

See those comments here.

Now Liddell, who retired in 2010 following a string of brutal losses, is going one step further by insisting he would have defeated reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, no stranger to the 205-pound weight class, had "The Spider" tried to get loud while "The Iceman" ruled the roost.

His comments (via Fighters Only):

"I would beat him, I always said that I would. I have the advantage in weight and height, so it would be more likely that I would beat him. But Anderson is one of my favorite fighters."

And just for shits and giggles, he'd even entertain the idea of an Octagon return to face "Bones."

Liddell (21-8) at one time was the most popular -- and most dangerous -- fighter UFC had on its roster. During a nearly three-year period, beginning at UFC 47 in 2004, "The Iceman" racked up seven straight wins by way of knockout or technical knockout.

Anderson vs a prime Chuck would give me a mma chubby. I think it'd be a hell of a lot closer than most people think.

Prime Chuck isn't the same caliber as prime Anderson. I'm a fan of Chuck, but let's be honest here.

Chuck makes a face before he throws his right. That's how Rashad was able to counter it.

If Rashad can counter Chuck I imagine Andy could counter Chuck with ease.

As awesome as Chuck was I think the fight would look like Andy v Griffin but instead of Chuck running out of the ring he would have told Joe 'I got caught, it happens'

This might seem crazy but I see the fight playing out almost identically to Leben/Silva. Liddell would come forward but Silvas jab speed would be on another level.

Prime Liddells chin woulda lasted longer plus Liddell has a bigger reach than Leben but eventually Silva would find his range and just be getting caught too many times. It'd be fun whilst it lasted but I think Liddell had a lot of wholes in his striking game and he fought a lot of grapplers. Liddell made his career by almost inventing takedown defence, forcing fighters to compete on the feet.

There was no doubt he was a successful kickboxer but Silva's on a whole different level.
